Frequently asked
questions
Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is the number of calories your body burns at complete rest โ just to maintain basic functions like breathing and circulation. It represents your minimum caloric need if you stayed in bed all day.
Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) is the total calories you burn per day including your activity level. It is calculated by multiplying your BMR by an activity factor ranging from 1.2 (sedentary) to 1.9 (extremely active).
The Mifflin-St Jeor equation used here is considered the most accurate BMR formula for most people, with a margin of error around ยฑ10%. Individual metabolism varies due to genetics, body composition, and health factors.
A deficit of 500 calories per day below your TDEE leads to approximately 0.5 kg (1 lb) of fat loss per week. We recommend not going below 1,200 calories/day for women or 1,500 for men without medical supervision.
